In this era of YouTube, Vines, and Podcasts, teenagers have access to all sorts of information and high-tech equipment. That’s why Toyota partnered with Discovery Education to create the TeenDrive365 Video Competition, which asked teens from around the country to put together their best short videos on how to keep teen drivers safe behind the wheel.
According to Toyota, more than 1,000 videos were submitted for this year’s competition. These were judged by two different groups: group one was Toyota and Discovery and group two was People’s Choice. Four different contestants were chosen, receiving an array of prizes.
“Each year we are impressed by the creativity and talent of the young filmmakers who enter the Toyota TeenDrive365 Video Challenge and this year was no exception,” said Michael Rouse, President of the Toyota U.S.A. Foundation. “At Toyota we believe that when good ideas are shared great things can happen.”
First place for people’s choice was $5,000 and a chance to go behind-the-scenes during a television broadcast. Toyota and Discovery awarded $15,000 to first place, $10,000 to second, and $7,500 to third. The first place winner in this category was also given the chance to work with a Discovery film crew to reshoot their entry video if they wanted to.

It is auto show season and you know what that means: tons of new cars and concepts being revealed! There are two concept cars in particular that caught our attention: the Toyota Corolla Furia and Toyota Fun Vii.
The Corolla Furia was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show last month. This new concept vehicle is designed to look and feel younger, fresher, and more appealing. This is thanks in part to the Furia’s short overhangs, long wheelbase, sweeping windshield and fender flares. Although this is just a concept, Toyota explains that the Furia represents their plans and efforts for all future cars: vehicles that allow drivers to expressively “Go Places.”
Next is the Toyota Fun Vii concept, a totally innovative and far-reaching idea. When designing this car, Toyota tried to imagine what a car 20 years from now would be like. So they created a car that is unlike anything you’ve seen, something that connects the driver to the car in revolutionary ways. Just to give you an idea, the entire body of the car is a LED-screen. Intrigued? Watch this video to see the Fun Vii for yourself:
Toyota is making sure that 2013 is a year to remember: first the all new Avalon and now the RAV4. Entering the market as a fourth-generation compact crossover, the 2013 RAV4 features a completely new and more modern exterior and tons of new features. It’s like a totally new car.
Revealed at the LA Auto Show a little over a month ago, the 2013 Toyota RAV4 has now arrived at dealerships and can be found in Columbia SC at Dick Dyer Toyota. Just by looking at it, you can see the contemporary styling and flawless design. Not only does it look good, it is also more aerodynamic than its predecessors.
Take a look at the backend and you will be surprised by the RAV4’s new liftgate. Forget the side-mounted door; this crossover now has a power liftgate that makes it easier than ever to load and unload cargo. And that bulky spare tire? It’s been relocated and is now situated under the cargo area.
Some other standards: a class-leading 8 airbags, French-stitched leather seats, display audio with Entune, a dynamic dashboard with convenient, user-friendly features, and push-button start.
