Toyota Tops the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates Dependability Study

According to J.D. Power and Associates, Toyota is the most dependable non-premium nameplate.  During this year’s Dependability Study, the motor company tied for third overall and improved by 18 fewer problems out of 100, compared to last year.

Every year, J.D. Power and Associates completes a Dependability Study of new vehicles that have been driven for three years.  Drivers are asked to report problems they have had in the last 12 months with their three-year-old vehicle.  Their responses are then used to determine which vehicles are the most dependable.

A total of eight Toyota vehicles were among the top three most dependable vehicles in their segments.  These vehicles include the Yaris, Prius, Corolla, Camry, Highlander, Sienna, Avalon, and Tundra.  In addition, the Yaris, Prius, and Tundra were ranked number one in their segment.
