2015 Toyota Tundra to Enter Baja 1000 This November

Toyota Tundra

Attention race fans! Toyota has just announced that they will enter the new 2015 Toyota Tundra Pro Series in the 47th annual Baja 1000 race. This motorsports event takes place each year in Ensenada, Mexico during November.

If you are reading this asking yourself (or your computer) what Baja 1000 is, then read on! The Baja 1000 is an off-road race that runs along the Baja California peninsula. The race itself varies in length from 600 miles to just under 1000 miles. There are many different divisions and all types of vehicles can enter. The race began in the early 1970s and it has gained popularity since its birth.

For the Toyota Tundra, this race is an important step for research and development. Mike Sweers, the Chief Engineer of Toyota Pickup Trucks talks about the importance of the race for consumers. “With over 1,000 miles of harsh terrain, the Baja 1000 is the ultimate proving grounds for [R&D] that helps [Toyota] continuously improve [its] trucks.” Toyota is hoping that insights from this race will allow the Toyota Tundra to exceed drivers’ expectations in the future.

We are excited to see how the 2015 Toyota Tundra Pro Series displays its strength and durability against the rough Mexican peninsula terrain.

2014 Tundra 1794 Edition in Columbia SC

2014 Toyota Tundra 1794

We love the Toyota Tundra. It’s a full-size truck that seriously packs a punch. For the 2014 model year, Toyota has added a unique trim level, reminiscent of the Wild West: the 1794 Edition.

You may be wondering why Toyota chose that year of all years. Well, to start, the 2014 Tundra is an all-American truck, engineered, designed, and manufactured in the US. So Toyota decided to name their new trim level after the founding year of the JCL Ranch, which used to stand in the very place where the Tundra’s San Antonio plant now resides. The 1794 Edition is an ode to the heritage of San Antonio and the American West.

The Western theme is not exclusive to the 1794 badge on the exterior of the Tundra. On the contrary, climb inside this beauty to see a custom-styled, brown leather-trimmed interior. Bask in the glory of the luxury leather seats, the wood-grain accents, the enormous interior. This is a truck to write home about.

2014 Toyota TundraThink you know the Tundra? Think again. This full-size pickup is ready for the 2014 model year with some big changes under its belt. But the biggest change has got to be the Tundra’s all-American engineering.

Toyota may be a Japanese company but there is nothing more America than the 2014 Toyota Tundra. This pickup was engineered at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan; designed by Calty Design Research centers in Newport Beach, California and Ann Arbor; and assembled exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, in San Antonio, Texas.

Is it power you want? Well, you will be pleased to know that the 2014 Tundra offers a 10,400 pound maximum towing capacity when properly equipped and can haul over 2,000 pounds. And with the choice of a V6 and two V8 engines, the Tundra is sure to meet your needs.
