Transporting Family in Style with the Toyota Sienna

Toyota Sienna

If you’re looking for the ultimate family transportation solution, you’re going to have to pick a minivan. Despite the popularity of SUVs, they don’t quite have the roominess, comfort, and convenience that minivans offer with their large dimensions and sliding doors. Unfortunately, minivans just aren’t sexy. They’re bland and uninteresting and make you wonder if they’re really all that worth it… unless we’re talking about the Sienna.

The Sienna is not just roomy, functional, and full of special features—it’s also stylish and suave and we’ve got to agree with Toyota when it calls it the “original Swagger Wagon.” Of course, looks aren’t everything, but fortunately the Sienna has everything else covered too.

It’s the only minivan in the segment with all-wheel drive, making it that much easier to maintain control when driving out in snowy or slick conditions. It’s powered by a smooth 3.5-liter V6 that makes 266 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to tow up to 3,500 pounds (all the kids plus the camping gear? easy!) while still delivering up to 25 mpg on the highway, because efficiency matters.

But how to keep the kids entertained during that extra-long road trip? The Sienna offers plenty of options there too, like an ultra-wide rear-seat entertainment system that can play two movies side-by-side (including Blu-ray!). It also features a minivan-exclusive Driver Easy Speak function that lets you tell the kids to calm down back there without having to raise your voice or turn your head around. It’s the ultimate family vehicle, so be sure to visit us at Dick Dyer Toyota and try it out!

The SpongeBob Movie 2015 Toyota Sienna Concept is Perfect for Family Adventures

Mark your calendars for February 6, 2015. After the busyness of the holiday season, we think you and your family will appreciate taking some time to enjoy a family night at the movies, watching the premiere of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. Until then, we can all enjoy the custom-made The SpongeBob Movie 2015 Toyota Sienna concept, as it tours the country ahead of the movie’s premiere.

“Toyota is again teaming up with SpongeBob to help him and his friends go places in a custom ride inspired by their upcoming dry land adventures,” said Jack Hollis, Toyota’s vice president of marketing.

“The 2015 Sienna is a perfect choice for families and superheroes alike – offering seating for up to eight and a bubble blower attachment feature to boot.”

The custom Sienna made its debut in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The concept maintains the SpongeBob theme throughout, with character-inspired seats, a ship’s steering wheel, and a sand-like floor.

Its tour will include stops at the Chicago and New York Auto Shows, Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America, Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando, Florida, and various Bass Pro Shops around the country. We at Dick Dyer Toyota are keeping our fingers crossed the concept will venture over to a nearby Bass Pro Shop soon.

Toyota Gives Back to Veterans through Star Spangled Salute Contest

Star Spangled Salute Contest

On November 11, Toyota awarded a wheelchair-accessible Toyota Sienna to Air Force veteran, Susan Kirsch through the Star Spangled Salute Contest.

We at Dick Dyer Toyota love when we hear stories of the opportunities Toyota has to give back to those in our communities. Here’s a recent heartwarming story of Toyota giving back to our military men and women through the Star Spangled Salute contest.

The contest solicited entries from all disabled U.S. veterans. In its second year, 1,800 veterans entered to win the gift of mobility and independence – a wheelchair accessible Toyota Sienna. The vehicle was donated by Toyota and customized with Vantage Mobility International (VMI)’s NorthStar Access 360 in-floor side entry ramp conversion.

When a name was drawn on Nov. 11, Veteran’s Day, Air Force veteran Susan Kirsch became the new owner of the 2015 Sienna.

“We launched the VMI Star Spangled Salute to educate disabled veterans about their mobility options that can help them regain their independence,” said Doug Eaton, corporate communication director for VMI. “Everyone at VMI and Toyota is pleased to announce that the Kirsch family has won the van on Veteran’s Day. This wheelchair accessible van will truly transform their lives.”

The timely donation will certainly be put to good use. Kirsch uses a powerchair, while her 14-year-old son relies on a tilt in place wheelchair. Toyota and VMI’s donation provides the family with a much-needed solution to their transportation needs. Here at Dick Dyer Toyota, we are proud of Toyota for giving back to one of our nation’s finest.

The Fully Loaded Series: 2015 Toyota Sienna

2015 Toyota Sienna

For one reason or another, minivans have gotten a bum rap after all of these years. They’re unfairly deemed as the antithesis of cool despite all of their potential to house cool things (e.g. you, your kids, your kids’ stuff…unless you aren’t cool, that is).

In order to help let some of the trappings of the minivan label fall away, automakers have taken to finding fancy new ways to refer to their big people movers. The 2015 Toyota Sienna, for example, has the arguably the best nom de zoom of them all: Swagger Wagon.

Oh yeah, that beats minivan by a sight.

But don’t get it confused: the 2015 Toyota Sienna is still a minivan in all the best ways possible. It’s a competent people mover that seats up to eight and is easy to enter and exit with dual power sliding doors and easy-access third-row seating.

There’s nothing stilted or lame about the 2015 Sienna, and its performance is as good a reason as any: not only is the Sienna powered by a capable 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 266 horsepower while returning an impressive EPA-estimated 25 highway mpg, but it’s available in an AWD configuration that makes it perfect for blustery weather ahead.

Add to that the superlative safety features—from the available Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision System, and front and rear sonar parking assist to the standard Star Safety System™ suite—and the 2015 Sienna is the ideal vehicle for transporting your family around town.

Oh, and did we mention that it looks good, too? We’d be inclined to say that it’s a real looker for a minivan, but if you recall, the 2015 Sienna is a Swagger Wagon.

Stop in to Dick Dyer Toyota this weekend and see all of the Sienna’s swag for yourself.

2015 Toyota Sienna Reveal Takes Place Completely Online

These days, the only time you can hope to see a new model reveal is at the next big auto show, with a fancy display and big crowds of people. But Toyota, ever forward-thinking and cutting edge, has decided to do something different, something much more modern. In the spirit of the age, the all-new 2015 Toyota Sienna reveal took place completely online.

So what does that mean exactly? Did Toyota just publish some photos of the car on their website and throw up a few YouTube videos? On the contrary, Toyota made this online reveal everything we could have wanted.

Embracing the fact that the Sienna is for the most part a family vehicle, Toyota commissioned three families made famous by the internet to be the spokespeople for the new Sienna’s reveal.

The beloved Eh Bee Family from the popular app Vine revealed the 2015 Sienna using funny 6-second video clips. As the Eh Bee Family puts it, “Our videos embrace all the hilarity that comes with being a family in today’s world, and the Sienna fit right into those stories.”

Next, YouTube star “Action Movie Kid” and his Dreamworks artist dad put together some mind-bending commercials, showing how the 2015 Sienna can transport the happenings of everyday life into an adventure unlike any other.

Lastly, the dad from “Convos with My 2-Year-Old” decided to take his hilarious conversation skills and put them to the test in “Conversations with my Sienna.” Who knew talking to a car could be so entertaining?

At the root of these captivating online reveals is of course the Toyota Sienna itself. For 2015, the Sienna expands its authority over modern automotive conveniences and technology by introducing a multi-informational display in the driver’s instrument panel to display turn by turn directions, a panoramic backup camera, dual-view Blu-Ray rear entertainment system, and a 7-inch touchscreen with swipe on/off capability.

The most exciting new feature of the Sienna has to be the Driver Easy Speak function. Basically, this allows the driver’s voice to be amplified through the vehicle via a built-in microphone projecting through the rear speakers. Anyone who has driven a minivan with a back seat full of kids knows the struggle of trying to get their attention and cooperation from the driver’s seat. Driver Easy Speak makes this task easier, especially since the kids won’t be able to use the “I didn’t hear you” excuse.
